Abstract: A power system for converting the voltage of DC power is provided. The power system comprises a DC input configured to receive input DC power having an input voltage; a DC output to provide output DC power to a load; power conversion circuitry; one or more energy-storage device; and at least one controller configured to: control the power conversion circuitry to convert the input DC power into conditioned DC power having a first voltage; and control the power conversion circuitry to provide the output DC power having a second voltage selected based on the input voltage of the input DC power; and control the power conversion circuitry to draw stored energy from the energy-storage device and suitably condition it to provide the output DC power; and control the power conversion circuitry to convert the input DC power into conditioned power to provide the conditioned DC power to the energy-storage device.
