Abstract: A data transmission method, an apparatus and a communication system, relating to the technical field of wireless communication. A first terminal communicates with a first network device by means of a relay device; the first network device determines that the first terminal switches from the first network device to a third network device, and sends first indication information to a second network device; and the first terminal communicates with the second network device by means of the relay device, the first indication information being used for indicating a downlink transmission requirement of the first terminal or a downlink transmission parameter, so as to instruct the first network device to send first downlink data to the third network device, and the first downlink data comprising downlink data for which a reception success acknowledgment indication has been received from the relay device. Thus, the first network device can indicate to the second network device the downlink transmission requirement of the first terminal or the downlink transmission parameter, so as to enable the second network device to know how to forward downlink data of the first terminal to the third network device, thus reducing the phenomenon of packet loss, and ensuring the downlink data transmission performance of the first terminal.
