Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a data protection system (100) using palm-vein biometric authentication and pseudonymization. The system (100) comprises a palm-vein acquisition module (102), preprocessing module (104), feature extraction module (106), protected biometric representation module (108), pseudonymization module (110), secure storage module (114), cryptographic key management module (116), authentication module (118), and application interface module (120). The palm-vein acquisition module (102) captures biometric information of a user, which is processed to extract biometric features and generate a protected biometric representation. The pseudonymization module (110) generates a pseudonymous identifier (112) using one or more pseudonymization parameters. The authentication module (118) compares a subsequently acquired biometric representation with the stored protected representation to generate an authentication result. The pseudonymous identifier (112) and/or authentication result is provided to an external application or service server (122) without transmitting the original palm-vein biometric information, thereby providing privacy-preserving authentication and secure data protection.
