MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411095500 A) filed by Lovely Professional University on December 04, 2024, for Cylinder Stand With Integrated Gas Leak And Weight Monitoring System.
Inventor includes Uma Kamboj.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cylinder stand with an integrated gas leak and weight monitoring system, specifically designed for Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders. The system comprises a base that supports the LPG cylinder, incorporating a gas sensor and a weighing sensor. The gas sensor, based on semiconductor or catalytic bead technology, detects the presence of LPG by measuring changes in electrical resistance or catalytic reaction. The weighing sensor, utilizing load cells, provides real-time data on the gas weight. A microcontroller processes input from these sensors to detect gas presence and measure gas weight, triggering an alarm system to alert users through sound, light, or both when a gas leak is detected or the gas level is low. The system includes a display or notification interface for real-time information and a communication module for connectivity to computing devices, enabling alerts to be sent to mobile devices.
