Abstract: TITLE: CUSTOMISED ACRYLIC DETACHABLE TOOTHBRUSH HANDLE ADAPTER FOR ENHANCED GRIP IN INDIVIDUALS WITH LIMITED DEXTERITY APPLICANT: 1. DR. STEPHEN VIJAY NIRMAL. T 2. DR. RAMESH KUMAR S.G ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a customised detachable toothbrush handle adapter for individuals with limited manual dexterity. The adapter comprises an outer body fabricated from heat-cure methyl methacrylate acrylic resin and contoured according to a wax impression of an individual's hand grip to provide anatomical finger indentations and a thumb support region for ergonomic control. The outer body defines an inner hollow cavity extending longitudinally and configured to securely receive and retain a toothbrush handle. A friction-fit retention mechanism is formed by dimensional adaptation between the inner hollow cavity and the toothbrush handle to prevent rotational movement and slippage during brushing. The outer body and the inner hollow cavity are integrally linked to establish a detachable but stable connection. The acrylic outer body provides biocompatibility, durability, dimensional stability, a smooth surface finish, and reusability across multiple toothbrush replacements, thereby improving toothbrush handling, grip stability, brushing efficiency, and usability for individuals with limited manual dexterity.
