MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641106095 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on September 03, 2026, for Curved Multi-Layer Structural Configuration Of A Woven Jute Fiber Reinforced Industrial Safety Helmet.
Inventors include Dr Ramakrishnan T; and Goforth Walker P.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structural configuration of an industrial safety helmet having a curved dome-shaped composite shell formed from multiple layers of woven jute fiber reinforced with epoxy resin. The helmet structure is configured to distribute externally applied impact forces across the curved shell and through the composite laminate, thereby reducing localized stress concentration and improving impact energy dissipation. The woven fiber arrangement provides reinforcement in multiple directions, while the layered configuration improves load transfer and resistance to crack propagation, fiber pull-out and delamination. The shell is produced by conforming the fiber layers to a helmet-shaped mould followed by resin impregnation and curing. The disclosed structural configuration provides a lightweight, low- cost and sustainable helmet geometry suitable for protective applications while enabling fabrication using a simple composite manufacturing process.
