Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a currency identification and counting device comprising a body defining a detection zone with a non-reflective contrast surface and a tactile boundary guide, an image acquisition module, and an angularly displaced diffused light source. A processor synchronizes illumination with image capture, segments a currency-note region, and extracts a non-text feature vector comprising colour-distribution, dimensional-ratio, edge-contour, and regional-contrast values. A classification engine compares the feature vector with denomination templates stored in a memory and confirms a denomination when a similarity threshold is satisfied. A counting module updates a session total once for each confirmed note and re-enables counting after absence or replacement of the note. A feedback system generates audio output and denomination-correlated haptic output, thereby communicating the confirmed denomination and supporting sequential currency counting without optical character recognition.
