The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides for crystalline oxcarbazepine-niacin and processes for their preparation more particularly crystalline oxcarbazepine-niacin forms prepared by innovative methods. The present invention further provides processes for preparation of these forms. The crystalline oxcarbazepine-niacin forms are prepared by solid grinding method as Method-1, by liquid assisted grinding method as Method-2, by antisolvent addition method as Method-3 and by solvent evaporation method as Method-4. The cocrystal of oxcarbazepine with niacin i.e. crystalline oxcarbazepine-niacin demonstrated a 3.18-fold improvement in in-vitro drug release compared to the pure drug. The water solubility of oxcarbazepine is enhanced, effectively reducing production, storage, and transportation costs.
