MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641108533 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on September 10, 2026, for Cryptographic Hardware System And Method For Secure Telemetry Communication In Implantable Medical Device.

Inventors include Chandra Segar; and Vinothini S.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a cryptographic hardware system (100) for secure telemetry communication in an implantable medical device, (a) receiving physiological data from two or more sensor channels (102A-N), (b) deriving channel-specific encryption parameters from a base encryption parameter using channel-indexed offsets, (c) performing modular arithmetic operations to encrypt the physiological data using channel-specific encryption parameters and a noise value to generate ciphertext, (d) transmitting the ciphertext through a telemetry communication interface , (e) receiving encrypted control information from an external system, (f) perform decryption using the private trapdoor parameter to recover plaintext control commands, and (g) provide the commands to operational subsystems through a device control interface (112).
