The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a dental smart sealant gel composition for application to the margin of a dental crown prior to cementation. The gel comprises a flowable, light-curable polymerisable resin formulation integrated with hydrophilic monomers and hygroscopic components. Following crown seating and light-curing, the polymerised gel at the crowntooth interface absorbs oral fluids, undergoing a controlled volumetric expansion of 2-10%. This hygroscopic expansion actively seals microscopic marginal gaps that inevitably form at the crown-tooth interface, preventing microleakage, bacterial ingress, and secondary caries initiation. The composition is compatible with standard resin luting cements and established adhesive dentistry protocols, and requires no modification to conventional crown cementation technique.
