The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a crop residue-based bio-composite board and a process for manufacturing the same. The bio-composite board comprises pearl millet husk, lignin, guar gum, paper pulp and coconut coir, wherein the constituent materials are combined to form a substantially homogeneous bio-composite matrix. The manufacturing process comprises preparing the constituent materials, forming a lignin-guar gum binder mixture, mixing the binder mixture with paper pulp, pearl millet husk and coconut coir to obtain a homogeneous bio-composite mixture, casting the mixture into a mould, mechanically compacting the cast mixture, curing the compacted mixture and optionally bonding PVC mica sheets to opposite surfaces of the cured board. The developed bio-composite board exhibits mechanical strength, thermal insulation, acoustic insulation, and machinability suitable for selected household and office interior applications.
