MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611081022 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College on July 01, 2026, for Crescent-Shaped Dual-Band X-Band Antenna Apparatus For Wireless And Radar Applications And Working Method Thereof.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a crescent-shaped dual-band X-band antenna apparatus (100) comprising a low-permittivity dielectric substrate (110) of Rogers RT/duroid 5880, a crescent-shaped radiating metallic patch (120) formed by the Boolean subtraction of a first circular area from a second concentric outer circular area and disposed on the upper surface of the dielectric substrate (110), a partial ground plane (130) on the lower surface of the dielectric substrate (110), a microstrip feed line (140) of fifty-ohm characteristic impedance connecting the crescent-shaped radiating patch (120) to an SMA connector interface (150). The crescent-shaped radiating patch (120) simultaneously supports two independent surface current resonance modes establishing dual-band operation in Band-I and Band-II within the X- band spectrum, achieving a peak realised gain of 6.8 dBi and 7.2 dBi, radiation efficiency exceeding 89%, return loss better than –28 dB, side lobe levels below –18 dB, and VSWR below 1.1 across both bands.
