Abstract: ABSTRACT CRAB MOLTING DETECTION USING RFID TAGS WITH TRAPS AND MACHINE LEARNING The invention discloses an automated system for detecting and predicting molting events in crabs using a combination of image processing, machine learning and environmental sensing technologies. The system leverages IP cameras to capture high resolution images of crabs and environmental sensors to monitor key factors such as temperature, salinity and oxygen levels, which are critical to the molting process. The preprocessing module enhances the quality of the captured images by reducing noise and standardization the format for analysis. The visual features relevant to molting such as changes in posture, size and carapace reflection are extracted using advanced algorithms. These features, combined with environmental data are fed into a machine learning model that is trained to predict molting events with high accuracy. The system includes a prediction and classification module that identifies crabs in different molting stages, allowing for timely interventions in aquaculture operations. The real time alerts are sent to aquaculture managers when molting is detected or predicted enabling effective management of molting crabs to prevent cannibalism and ensure optimal growth conditions.
