Abstract: The present invention provides a cyber-physical system framework for smart transportation safety utilizes a multi-layered, closed-loop pipeline to prevent vehicular collisions. The architecture distributes real-time processing across a Vehicle Tier, an RSU-embedded Edge Tier, and an analytical Cloud Tier. Onboard vehicle sensors continuously acquire positional telemetry and broadcast standardized basic safety messages via low-latency DSRC or C-V2X channels to localized roadside units. The edge nodes execute Kalman filter-based state estimation and initial anomaly detection. Aggregated data is relayed via 5G backhaul to a cloud engine, where an LSTM neural network models traffic flows and calculates collision probabilities. This risk assessment is dynamically scaled using a Driver Behavior Risk Scoring model. When hazard thresholds are breached, localized alerts are disseminated downstream, triggering dashboard HMI warnings for human drivers or injecting direct trajectory constraints into autonomous driving motion planners.
