Abstract: A cover assembly (100A) for a consumable tray (302) of an automated analytical instrument (100B) includes a base portion (202) positioned over the consumable tray (302), a top cover (204) removably carried by the base portion (202) and positioned over a first region (304) of the consumable tray (302), and an access assembly (206) movably carried by the base portion (202) and positioned over a second region (402) of the consumable tray (302). Furthermore, each of the top cover (204) and the access assembly (206) is independently engaged with the base portion (202) such that access to the first region (304) and access to the second region (402) are independently achievable.
