Abstract: The present invention relates to a cosmetic bath additive’s composition (118) for hard water softening and skin conditioning, and a method (100) for preparing it. The method (100) comprises weighing raw materials (102); preparing Phase A (104) by dissolving GLDA, Sodium Phytate and Citric Acid in pre-heated deionized water; cooling Phase A (106); preparing Phase B (108) with humectants and Polyquaternium-7; preparing Phase C (110) by blending encapsulated fragrance oils, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil and Niacinamide; combining Phases A, B and C (112); adjusting pH to 5.5 ± 0.5 (114); and adding preservatives with homogenization (116) to obtain the additive’s composition (118). Analytical evaluation confirms substantial reduction of free Ca²? and Mg²? ions in hard water exceeding 400 mg/L. Clinical evaluation on 25 participants shows a 10.48% rise in skin hydration and 12.94% reduction in TEWL, with no adverse events, offering a safe, sustainable alternative to conventional softeners.
