Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of treating or preventing acne, such as facial acne vulgaris, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of cortexolone- 17a-propionate in combination with an effective amount of one or more secondary anti-acne agents. The secondary anti-acne agents used in combination with cortexolone-17 a-propionate can be oral or topical agents. The secondary anti-acne agents can be administered in a combined formulation or independently in a sequential fashion. The present disclosure is further related to a topical formulation comprising cortexolone-17a-propionate, at least one topical anti-acne agent, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
