Abstract: A controller applied to a wireless charging device. The controller is used for measuring a first power loss, wherein the first power loss is a coupling loss between a standard coil and a reception coil of an electronic device when the electronic device is at a preset position on the standard coil. The controller is further used for converting, on the basis of a parameter relationship between the standard coil and a transmission coil and the relationship between the preset position and the actual position of the electronic device on the transmission coil, the first power loss into the actual coupling loss between the transmission coil and the reception coil when the electronic device is at the actual position on the transmission coil. The controller is further used for performing foreign object detection on the basis of the actual coupling loss. The embodiments of the present application define a method for calculating a wireless charging coupling loss, more accurately compile statistics on the overall power consumption during transmission, and improve the precision of foreign object detection.
