Abstract: CONTROLLED DUAL MODALITY IMAGING SETUP INTEGRATING THERMAL AND RGB IMAGING FOR NON-DESTRUCTIVE POST-HARVEST QUALITY [0038] A controlled dual-modality imaging system for non-destructive post-harvest quality assessment of fruits and vegetables is disclosed. The system comprises a 30 cm × 30 cm wooden enclosure, internally lined with matte black paint, designed to minimize environmental interference. It integrates an RGB camera for visible-spectrum information and a thermal camera, such as a FLIR-E4, for emitted thermal radiation. The enclosure features an openable design, allowing natural lighting for RGB image acquisition and a closed environment for stable thermal measurements, with the thermal camera calibrated for biological sample emissivity. A modular sample positioning mechanism enables adjustable camera-to-object distance and multi-orientation imaging. This configuration enhances the detection of internal defects like bruising and spoilage, and can be integrated with conveyor belt systems for automated industrial inspection. [FIG. 3]
