Abstract: Disclosed is a controlled-access material transfer apparatus for a campus exchange system. An enclosure defines a material compartment, a deposit opening controlled by a deposit door, and a retrieval opening controlled by a retrieval door. An article carrier moves between deposit and retrieval positions. A transfer linkage couples the deposit door to the article carrier so that closing the deposit door moves the article carrier toward the retrieval position. An interlock assembly prevents simultaneous opening of the doors and retains the retrieval door closed until the article carrier reaches the retrieval position. A verification terminal receives an institution-issued email credential and an exchange authorization associated with a marketplace listing. A lock actuator responds to the exchange authorization by releasing a lock member, thereby permitting a verified recipient to open the retrieval door and remove an article from the article carrier.
