Abstract: Disclosed is a contract obligation review appliance for contract performance monitoring. The appliance has a processing housing containing a processor and a memory and a document input interface connected to the processing housing for receiving a contract document and performance records. A text processing unit stored in the memory and executed by the processor converts the contract document into clause records. An obligation extraction unit connected to the text processing unit derives obligation records from the clause records. A timeline generation unit connected to the obligation extraction unit arranges the obligation records by due dates or trigger events. An event matching unit connected to the timeline generation unit associates the performance records with the obligation records, so that contract duties and recorded performance material are presented through a common review path.
