MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641097389 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 12, 2026, for Continuous-Trust Fraud Detection System And Method For Online Banking Transactions.
Inventors include C A Yogaraja; and Saksham Raj.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: A continuous-trust fraud detection system (106) for online banking transactions is provided. The continuous-trust fraud detection system (106) includes one or more processors (108) and a memory (110) communicatively coupled to the one or more processors (108). The memory (110) stores instructions executable by the one or more processors (108) to authenticate a user session and assign a session-trust score to the authenticated user session. The one or more processors (108) are further configured to continuously update the session-trust score based on elapsed time and behavioral consistency associated with the authenticated user session, determine whether a requested banking transaction is associated with a watermarked decoy account, determine a transaction decision based on the updated session-trust score and a fraud score generated by a machine learning model (116), and execute the requested banking transaction only upon successful verification of one or more predefined transaction invariants by a deterministic invariant gate.
