MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617066110 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation on May 26, 2026, for Continuous Casting Method For Steel.

Inventors include Morita Shugo; Yonei Yu; Kokufu Sho; Toishi Keigo; Aramaki Norichika; Ueno Seigo; Hirata Kotaro; and Higashizono Takumi.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: Provided is a continuous casting method for steel, which is capable of suppressing fluctuation in rolling reduction speed in a region where a center solid phase ratio of a slab is 0.7 to 1.0, inclusive. The continuous casting method for steel includes casting a slab while subjecting the slab to light rolling reduction utilizing a light rolling reduction zone. In the longitudinal direction of the slab, a region in which the center solid phase ratio of the slab is 0.7 to 1.0 is continuously predicted using operating conditions for a continuous casting machine. The roll opening degree of the light rolling reduction zone is dynamically changed so that the fluctuation in the light rolling reduction speed in the region is no more than a predetermined value.
