Abstract: TITLE: CONTINUOUS CARIES ACTIVITY MONITORING SYSTEM APPLICANT: 1. MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH 2. MEENAKSHI AMMAL DENTAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a continuous caries monitoring system for real-time, multi-parameter assessment of the oral environment. The system comprises an intraoral appliance embedded with a plurality of biosensors, including a pH sensor, moisture sensor, temperature sensor, salivary flow sensor, microbial activity sensor, and ion-selective sensor, operatively connected to a processing unit. The processing unit performs data fusion of the acquired multi-parameter signals to generate a predictive caries-risk assessment. A wireless communication module transmits the analyzed data to a notification interface on an external smart device, which delivers real-time preventive alerts, while a power source sustains continuous system operation. The invention enables early identification of cariogenic conditions before clinically detectable lesions develop, transforming the intraoral appliance from a passive orthodontic device into an active, predictive, and patient-specific platform for preventive dental care.
