MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112789 A) filed by Thiagarajar College Of Engineering on September 21, 2026, for Context Aware Adaptive State Of Charge Prediction System And Method For Electric Vehicles.

Inventors include S. Rathika; S. Charles Raja; and L. Ashok Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: Aspects of present disclosure relate to a context-aware adaptive State-of-Charge (SoC) prediction system (100) for an Electric Vehicle. The system (100) acquires battery, vehicle, weather, road, driving-behaviour and vehicle-load parameters through a Battery Management System (102), vehicle sensor unit (104), weather data unit (106), road condition unit (108) and vehicle load unit (110). A data synchronization and preprocessing unit (112) synchronizes and preprocesses the acquired data, while a context feature extraction unit (114) extracts relevant features. A context impact index generation unit (116) generates a Weather Impact Index (WII), Road Energy Demand Index (REDI), Driving Behaviour Index (DBI) and Vehicle Load Index (VLI). An adaptive weighting unit (118) dynamically weights the contextual indices, which are fused with battery and vehicle parameters and provided to an AI-based SoC prediction engine (120). A prediction-error correction unit (122) adaptively corrects the predicted SoC, while a confidence estimation unit (124) provides associated reliability information.
