MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611092490 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 30, 2026, for Context-Aware Adaptive Noise-Cancellation Earbuds Using Artificial Intelligence.

Inventors include Priyam Mishra; Meenu Gupta; and Rakesh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to context-aware adaptive noise-cancellation earbuds using artificial intelligence for dynamically optimizing active noise cancellation based on surrounding environmental conditions and user context. The system comprises an external feedforward microphone, an internal feedback microphone, an AI processing unit with a digital signal processor, a speaker driver, a sensor module, a power management unit, and a wireless communication module. The microphones capture ambient and in-ear acoustic signals, which are analysed using artificial intelligence to classify environmental noise and generate an adaptive anti-noise waveform in real time. A machine learning engine continuously learns user preferences and listening behaviour to automatically adjust noise-cancellation intensity and transparency modes. A safety-aware sound filtering module selectively permits critical external sounds, including emergency sirens, alarms, and speech, while dynamic power optimization reduces energy consumption according to environmental conditions, thereby providing a personalized, safe, energy-efficient, and seamless listening experience.
