Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a Context-Aware Al Engine for Autonomous Journal Entry Verification, a computer-implemented system and method for intelligently verifying accounting journal entries prior to their posting in financial ledgers. The invention integrates contextual intelligence, artificial intelligence, machine learning, behavioral analytics, explainable artificial intelligence ()CAI), and knowledge-based accounting reasoning to evaluate the authenticity, consistency, and. compliance of accounting transactions. Unlike conventional rule-based verification systems that primarily validate numerical accuracy and predefined accounting rules, the proposed invention performs multidimensional contextual analysis by correlating journal entries with organizational policies, historical transaction patterns, user authorization profiles, business workflows, supporting financial documents, regulatory requirements, temporal factors, and operational events. The system constructs a comprehensive contextual profile for each transaction and applies an adaptive Al verification engine to detect inconsistencies, abnormal posting behavior, policy deviations, duplicate entries, inappropriate account classifications, and context-dependent financial anomalies. A dynamic risk assessment module assigns confidence scores and categorizes transactions for automatic approval, manual review, or audit investigation. An explainable decision module generates human- readable verification justifications, enabling accountants, auditors, and fmancial managers to understand the reasoning behind every decision. A continuous learning framework further enhances verification accuracy by incorporating verified transactions, audit outcomes, policy revisions, and evolving organizational practices into subsequent analyses without requiring extensive manual rule modifications. The invention seamlessly integrates with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, cloud accounting platforms, banking applications, and other financial information systems through standardized interfaces. By combining contextual reasoning with adaptive artificial intelligence, the invention significantly improves journal entry verification accuracy, reduces manual intervention, minimizes false positives and false negatives, strengthens internal controls, enhances regulatory compliance, and supports reliable, transparent, and autonomous accounting in modem digital enterprises. The invention is applicable across banking, manufacturing, healthcare, education, insurance, government, retail, and other sectors requiring intelligent financial transaction verification.
