Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to connectionless service message transmission. In a method, an apparatus transmits, to a network entity, a connectionless service message comprising an identifier of a connectionless service. A session supporting the connectionless service has been established between the apparatus and the network entity, and an association based on a protocol for the connectionless service for the session has not been established. The apparatus receives, from the network entity, a security mode command message comprising integrity protected security information. In accordance with a determination that an integrity check on the integrity protected security information is successful, the first apparatus establishes the association with the network entity for performing secure transmission.
