MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617085867 A) filed by Qualcomm Incorporated on July 13, 2026, for Connected Mode Random Access Procedures Supporting Subband Full Duplex Operations.

Inventors include Saha, Chiranjib; Abdelghaffar, Muhammad Sayed Khairy; Phuyal, Umesh; Zheng, Ruiming; Krishnan, Shankar; and Kadiri, Prasad Reddy.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive via a UE-specific signal, an indication indicative of multiple random access configurations, where at least a first random access configuration may be associated with a subband full duplex (SBFD) resource for random access. The UE may identify, during a radio resource control (RRC) connected mode of the UE, occurrence of a trigger event that triggers performance of a random access procedure. The UE may perform the random access procedure based on occurrence of the trigger event during the connected mode of the UE, wherein the random access procedure is performed on the SBFD resource associated with the first random access configuration. In some aspects, the random access configurations may be for a two-step random access procedure or a four-step random access procedure.
