Abstract: A conformal printed sensing film (108) for a battery system (102) is disclosed. The film includes a flexible dielectric substrate (302). A two dimensional (2D) array of printed sensors (304) disposed on the flexible dielectric substrate (302) and configured to detect one or more operational parameters of the battery system (102). A set of printed conductive traces disposed on the flexible dielectric substrate (302) and coupled to the 2D array of printed sensors (304), the set of printed conductive traces (306) being arranged in a multiplexed routing architecture. The printed conductive trace (306) forms a closed loop surrounding at least one printed sensor (304). A protective overcoat (308) disposed over a portion of the 2D array of printed sensors (304) and the set of printed conductive traces (306). An adhesive layer (310) disposed on surface of the flexible dielectric substrate (302) opposite to the 2D array of printed sensors (304). [
