Abstract: Techniques are described for configuring channel state information (CSI) reporting in wireless communication systems. The disclosed methods and systems enable reporting CSI for both a single frequency network (SFN) and coherent joint transmission (CJT). An example wireless communication method includes receiving, by a wireless device from a network node, a channel state information (CSI) reporting configuration. In this example method, the CSI reporting configuration configures at least one CSI-RS (reference signal) resource in at least one CSI-RS resource set or group. The method continues with the wireless device determining, based on the CSI reporting configuration, a number of CSI processing units (CPUs), and performing, based on the number of CPUs, a CSI reporting procedure.
