MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641101801 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on August 23, 2026, for Confidence-Guided System And Method For Intermittent Fault Detection And Maintenance Control In Wireless Sensor Networks.
Inventors include Manikandan K; and P. Iswarya.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a confidence-guided fault-management system (100) for controlling fault-management operations in a wireless sensor network using hybrid spatiotemporal feature learning, Bayesian uncertainty estimation, confidence calibration, and selective prediction. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and memory (106), connected through a network (132) to sensor nodes (130). The processor (104) executes plurality of modules (108) comprising a sensor-data acquisition module (110), pre-processing module (112), convolutional feature-extraction module (114), transformer attention module (116), feature-fusion and classification module (118), stochastic inference module (120), uncertainty-estimation module (122), threshold-calibration module (124), confidence-guided decision module (126), and data-augmentation module (128). The plurality of modules (108) generates synthetic intermittent-fault observations, handle missing values, normalize and segment sensor data, balance classes, detect intermittent faults, determine predictive uncertainty, and selectively permit or suppress fault-management operations.
