MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641119834 A) filed by Ifet College Of Engineering on October 07, 2026, for Condition-Responsive Photovoltaic Panel Cleaning And Performance Monitoring System.
Inventors include Mrs. R. Revathy; Dr. B. Balaji; Ms. N. Hema; and Ms. S. Nithya Sri.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a condition-responsive photovoltaic panel cleaning and performance monitoring system. The system comprises a photovoltaic panel (102), dust sensing unit (104), microcontroller (106), voltage sensing module (108), current sensing module (110), cleaning brush mechanism (114), brush drive motor (116), water spraying mechanism (118), and water pump (120). The microcontroller (106) determines a contamination level from the dust sensing unit (104) and operates the cleaning brush mechanism (114) without water spraying for a relatively lower contamination level and together with the water spraying mechanism (118) for a relatively higher contamination level. Electrical performance of the photovoltaic panel (102) is measured before and after the corresponding cleaning operation to determine cleaning effectiveness. A local display (122), LED indicator unit (124), and wireless communication module (126) provide local and remote monitoring. The system enables condition-responsive photovoltaic surface maintenance while reducing unnecessary water-assisted cleaning.
