Abstract: Techniques and apparatus for improved computing resource allocation are provided. In an example method, a first machine learning training (MLT) job awaiting assignment to computational resources is identified, the computational resources comprising a plurality of processor components. A first resource utilization of the first MLT job is determined, and a second resource utilization of a second MLT job being executed by one or more processor components of the plurality of processor components is determined. In response to determining that an aggregate of the first resource utilization and the second resource utilization is below a capacity of the one or more processor components, the first MLT job is assigned to the one or more processor components, where the first MLT job and the second MLT job share the one or more processor components, and the first MLT job is dispatched for execution using the one or more processor components.
