Abstract: Computerized Yarn Cross-Sectional Geometry Analyzer with AI and Environmental Simulation This invention describes an automated apparatus for yarn cross- sectional geometry analysis employing step-rotational imaging, computerized three-dimensional reconstruction, and artificial intelligence–based classification. A yarn specimen is rotated in calibrated angular increments, with high-resolution images captured and processed to generate a digital twin of its cross-sectional structure. The reconstructed model is analyzed by trained algorithms to classify geometries—circular, elliptical, collapsed, or irregular—and to correlate anomalies with predictive mechanical behaviors including tensile strength, elasticity, and wear resistance. The apparatus optionally incorporates an environmental simulation chamber capable of varying humidity, temperature, salinity, and pressure, thereby enabling evaluation of yarn deformation under operational and extreme conditions such as aerospace or marine environments. An inline monitoring configuration allows real-time assessment during spinning and weaving processes, issuing alerts upon deviation from control parameters. The invention thus provides an objective, reproducible, and predictive framework for textile quality assurance, performance validation, and certification.
