MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641021756 A) filed by Star Hi Herbs Pvt Ltd on February 24, 2026, for Composition And Method For Preparation Of Cissus Quadrangularis Extract For Weight Management And Joint Health.

Abstract: Composition and method for preparation of Cissus quadrangularis extract for weight management and joint health [0089] The present invention discloses a composition of enriched Cissus quadrangularis extract comprising 0.97% to 1.46% of quercetin, 0.029% to 0.044% of isorhamnetin, 0.016% to 0.024% of genistein, 0.016% to 0.024% of daidzein and 0.008% to 0.012% of ferulic acid, wherein the combination of said bioactive components in the specified concentration range exhibits synergistic effect by enhancing the anti-inflammatory activity naturally without any side-effects. The extract is prepared by a method (200), wherein Cissus quadrangularis stem is treated with purified water in a primary extraction (201), and the obtained resultant extract is subjected to a secondary extraction (202) by treatment with 70% ethanol. Further, the obtained resultant is treated with 100% ethanol in a tertiary extraction (203) to obtain the enriched Cissus quadrangularis extract, facilitating management of weight and joint health.
