MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621080062 A) filed by Nuoterra Innovations Private Limited on June 29, 2026, for Composite Material For Converting Plaster Of Paris Waste Into Structural Products And Method Of Preparation Thereof.
Inventor includes Desai, Binish Rajiv.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a process for preparing a structural composite material from plaster of Paris waste (PoP) comprises collecting post-use waste, primary segregation removing non-compatible contaminants while retaining fibres and paint residues, cleaning, crushing, and fine grinding to produce recycled particulate plaster material. A dough-like bio-composite material is prepared by combining recycled particulate plaster material (35-90% by volume), binder system (2.5-50% by volume), adhesive system (5-20% by volume), and water (2-8% by volume). The present invention further discloses a formation process comprising mould preparation, filling and compaction, levelling, hardening and curing under ambient or low-temperature conditions, demoulding and edge finishing produces a structural composite product. The product exhibits compressive strength of 10-25 MPa, water absorption of 8-12% after 24 hours, thickness swelling less than 5%, and density of approximately 1.35 g/cm³.
