MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083490 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on July 07, 2026, for Composite Biodegradable Cellulose-Based Scent Flask.

Inventor includes Dr. Falak Bashir.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The invention discloses a composite biodegradable, compostable cellulose-based scent flask (100). The flask comprises a structural body (101) formed from molded agricultural waste fibers refined to a Schopper-Riegler degree of 60 to 80, and a specialized internal chemical-resistant barrier (102) comprising a nanocomposite of nano-crystalline cellulose and chitosan cross-linked via a citric acid organic agent. This barrier forms a covalently bonded, insoluble interpenetrating network that prevents ethanol migration and container delamination without the utilization of synthetic plastic liners. The flask incorporates a high-density molded neck portion (103) that engages with a biodegradable closure (104) having an internal swelling gasket (105) composed of compressed cellulose configured to expand by 5% to 10% in volume upon absorbing microscopic amounts of fragrance vapor to establish a gas-tight biological hermetic seal. The manufacturing process involves a wet-on-wet dual-stage slurry molding and thermal press curing at 130°C, which ensures high structural rigidity and chemical inertness.
