Inventors include Ms. Aditi Vinayak Zagade; Mr. Akshay Shantilal Dhole; Ms. Akanksha Vikas More; Ms. Pooja Rajaram Jadhav; Ms. Ashwini Shivank Shinde; Ms. Swapnali Ranjeet Atole; Ms. Apeksha Lokesh Patil; and Ms. Urmila Ketan Maske.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a comparative in-vitro evaluation system for determining antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial activities of ethanolic extracts obtained from Curcuma zedoaria, Curcuma caesia, and Curcuma amada. Plant materials are shade dried, coarsely powdered, defatted using hexane, and extracted with ethanol by maceration for 48 hours, followed by filtration and solvent removal. Antioxidant activity is evaluated by DPPH, hydrogen peroxide, and nitric oxide radical-scavenging assays at specified extract concentrations. Anti-inflammatory activity is determined by a protein denaturation assay using bovine albumin and diclofenac sodium as a reference. Antimicrobial activity is evaluated by agar well diffusion against selected bacterial and fungal strains at 25, 50, and 100 mg/ml. The evaluation provides species-wise comparative measurements including inhibition percentages, IC50 values, and inhibition-zone diameters under defined experimental conditions.
