Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are directed towards a compact X-shaped MIMO antenna with high gain and enhanced isolation for wireless communication system. The compact X-shaped MIMO antenna system includes a dual-band multiple- input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system employing X-shaped radiating elements to achieve high gain, optimal impedance matching, and enhanced isolation between antenna elements. The antenna integrates three isolation enhancement techniques neutralization lines (NL), a defected ground structure (DGS), and a parasitic strip within a single compact planar configuration, enabling isolation levels exceeding 18 dB without increasing antenna size or structural complexity. The antenna structure comprises two X-shaped radiating patches fabricated on an FR-4 substrate and backed by a defected ground plane. The antenna geometry was designed and simulated using the Ansys HFSS electromagnetic simulation tool to evaluate key performance parameters, including return loss, isolation, and gain. Experimental measurements were subsequently conducted and compared with simulation results to validate the design. Neutralization lines of varying thicknesses were positioned between the X-shaped radiating patches to further enhance isolation performance, and configurations employing double neutralization lines were also analyzed using HFSS to assess additional isolation improvement. The proposed antenna operates over two distinct frequency bands and provides adequate return loss to support multi-standard wireless communication. Fig. 1 - Fig. 6
