The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The subject invention concerns a force limiting robotic gripper for automatically protecting from overload during gripping of objects. The gripper comprises two articulated fingers operated by a 12-V actuator which can grip objects of up to 0-60 mm width and apply gripping force in a range of 5 N to 30 N. A spring force limiting mechanism is incorporated in the force transmitting path and ensures that the gripping force does not exceed the threshold value. The mechanism absorbs any extra force applied during gripping operation beyond the preset limit and thus prevents breakage of the object and reduces the load on the gripper. The subject invention makes use of a purely mechanical force limiting device without using electronic sensors, thus making the system simple, reliable, and cost- effective.
