MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611084184 A) filed by Upes on July 09, 2026, for Community Borewell Monitoring With Rfid Metering, Unauthorized Extraction Detection, And Groundwater Depletion Forecasting System.
Inventors include Ayush Kumar Agrawal; Sushabhan Choudhury; Keshav Sinha; Oshan Paul; and Diwakar Chauhan.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: A system for community borewell monitoring comprise distributed sensor nodes, a gateway node, and a remote server. Each node includes an ESP32 microcontroller, water level sensor, flow sensor, current transformer clamp, RFID reader, TDS probe, real-time clock, SD module, and relay. The node authenticates RFID card identifiers against a locally stored whitelist, permits pump operation for an authenticated session, records extracted volume, groundwater level, water quality, and timestamps, and detects unauthorized extraction when pump electrical activity occurs without an active authenticated session. Records and alert packets are transmitted via ESP-NOW to the gateway node for buffered JSON upload through a GSM/GPRS module to the remote server, where server analytics estimate a predicted borewell dry date.
