Abstract: Provided in the present application are a communication method and a communication apparatus. The communication method comprises: a terminal device sending a first request to a first access network device, wherein the first request is used for instructing the terminal device to request access to a core network; the terminal device establishing a connection with a second access network device; and the terminal device receiving first information from the second access network device, wherein the first information is information that the core network replies to the terminal device on the basis of the first request. The technical solution can help a terminal device to continue completing the process of accessing a core network in a scenario where the terminal device is disconnected from a first access network device before receiving first information, that is, in the case in which the terminal device has not accessed the core network.
