Abstract: Provided in the present application are a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method comprises: sending a first PPDU, wherein the first PPDU comprises a first field used for beam training, a frequency domain range corresponding to the first field comprises a first frequency domain sub-range and a second frequency domain sub-range, and the sum of the first frequency domain sub-range and the second frequency domain sub-range is less than or equal to a first frequency domain range corresponding to the first PPDU; and sending a first beam set within the first frequency domain sub-range of the first field, and sending a second beam set within the second frequency domain sub-range of the first field, wherein a first beam sent within the first frequency domain sub-range at a first moment and a second beam sent within the second frequency domain sub-range at the first moment have different directions. In the communication method, fields in PPDUs that are used for beam training correspond to a plurality of frequency domain ranges, and at least one different beam can be sent within the frequency domain ranges at the same moment, thus realizing a frequency-division beam training scheme, and further reducing the overheads of beam training.
