Abstract: The present application relates to the technical field of WLANs, and discloses a communication method and apparatus, capable of quickly and effectively verifying an initial control frame, thereby improving the efficiency of data transmission. The method comprises: acquiring an initial control frame, wherein the initial control frame comprises a first field and a frame check sequence field, the first field is used for bearing a second frame check sequence, the second frame check sequence is used for verifying a field before the first field in the initial control frame and some or all of bits in the first field other than the second frame check sequence, the frame check sequence field is used for bearing a first frame check sequence, and the first field is located before the frame check sequence field; and sending the initial control frame to a first multi-link device, wherein the initial control frame is used for instructing the first multi-link device to switch from a monitoring state to a wake-up state.
