Abstract: A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: acquiring a plurality of SSBs, wherein indexes of any two SSBs in the plurality of SSBs are different; on the basis of the plurality of SSBs, determining a plurality of search spaces of system information blocks, wherein one of the plurality of search spaces is determined on the basis of one of the plurality of SSBs; and on the basis of the plurality of search spaces, receiving the plurality of system information blocks, and merging and demodulating the plurality of system information blocks. In the method, one system information block is received on the basis of each of a plurality of search spaces, to obtain a plurality of system information blocks, and the plurality of system information blocks are merged and demodulated, thereby increasing the demodulation success rate of the system information blocks; the system information blocks are used for initial access, thereby increasing the success rate of the initial access process, improving the initial access performance, and reducing the initial access delay.
