Abstract: A communication method and apparatus, which are applied to the technical field of communications; and can be applied to wireless local area network systems of 802.11 series protocols, such as next-generation WiFi protocols of IEEE 802.11ax, for example, 802.11be, WiFi 7 or EHT, or such as 802.11bn, WiFi 8, UHR, WiFi AI and millimeter wave (MMW), and can also be applied to a WPAN system, which supports a UWB, a sensing system, etc. The method comprises: a first communication apparatus generating a PPDU and sending the PPDU; and a second communication apparatus receiving the PPDU and parsing the PPDU, wherein the PPDU comprises first indication information, the first indication information can be used for indicating a first modulation scheme set and a coding rate, and the first modulation scheme set is one of N modulation scheme sets, which are divided on the basis of W modulation schemes; and Q modulation schemes in the first modulation scheme set are used for modulating the PPDU.
