Abstract: A communication method and an apparatus, relating to the technical field of communications, and used for solving a communication security problem caused by an NF requesting a certificate from a CA under the guise of another NF. In the present application, a CA receives a certificate application message, wherein the certificate application message comprises indication information, a first instance identifier of an NF and a signature, the indication information is used for indicating that the certificate application message comprises the signature, the signature is a signature of a trusted function for a second instance identifier of the NF, and the trusted function is specifically a function that is trusted by the CA; according to the signature and the first instance identifier of the NF, the CA can perform verification; and when the verification has passed, the CA sends a certificate of the NF.
