Abstract: Provided in the present application are a communication method and an apparatus therefor. A terminal device receives, on a first cell, first information from a first network device, wherein the first information is used for indicating a plurality of pieces of time-domain configuration information and a plurality of activation conditions, the plurality of pieces of time-domain configuration information and the plurality of activation conditions being in one-to-one correspondence, and the first cell is a serving cell of the terminal device; and upon determining that a first activation condition is satisfied, the terminal device receives, on a second cell and on the basis of first time-domain configuration information corresponding to the first activation condition, a synchronization signal and physical broadcast channel block (SSB) from a second network device, wherein the second cell is a neighbor cell of the first cell, the first activation condition belongs to the plurality of activation conditions, and the first time-domain configuration information belongs to the plurality of pieces of time-domain configuration information. Compared with a network device configuring a plurality of pieces of time-domain configuration information for a terminal device multiple times, a network device configuring a plurality of pieces of time-domain configuration information for a terminal device in a single operation can reduce the processing load of both the terminal device and the network device.
