Abstract: ABSTRACT COMBINATION RELAY VALVE FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE BRAKE SYSTEMS The present invention relates to a combination relay valve for vehicle brake systems. The valve comprises a relay valve (RV) application chamber for normal braking and release, and an anti-compounding relay valve (ACRV) chamber for parking and braking applications. Integrated within the ACRV chamber is a direct control valve (DCV), which works in conjunction with a control chamber connected to the vehicle's air tank via a port (4). The DCV piston, housed within an intermediate housing, is configured for horizontal movement, actuated by compressed air received through a control port (41) from a hand brake valve (HBV) outlet. The relay valve application chamber is designed to rapidly fill and exhaust air pressure, while the ACRV chamber manages the pressurization and evacuation of spring brake actuators via control signals from both the HBV and a foot brake valve (FBV). The DCV piston facilitates the connection of control signals to the ACRV supply and delivery sections for parking brake application, with the control signal being exhaustible through the HBV to release delivery section pressure, allowing the valve to revert to its default state.
